School swap stuff...

Two swaps in a row?  It has been ages since I did a swap, and forgot how fun they are ;)  This one was a school theme, and we could make anything.  A tag, a journal block, an embellishment, whatever.  I dug deep for this one!  I decided to make a journaling card, and a library tag seemed like the perfect fit.

I used these two $1 stamp sets, I believe they both came from Michael's awhile back.  I used the stars in yellow, the A+ in the scallop circle in red, and the 'good work' inside the circles in black.

And these inks..

I cut the pockets and tags using the Coluzzle system.  It came with the template to cut both pocket and tag, as well as the cling stamp for the tag.  I bought it years ago, probably 8 or 9, and it was still in the package!  Of course I HAD to have it back then ;)   It's nice when you can go shopping in your stash!

The pocket is plain black carstock, and I cut pieces to line it from the DCWV Grade School stack.  The tags are plain white cardstock, and so is the decorative strip on the front.  I used an EK Success punch for the edge, Binding Edge.

I am really pleased with how these came out!  I usually have a tough time coming up with an idea, but these came together fairly quicly.  Love it when that happens ;)

Easter cards and 3rd graders...

My son's teacher asked me if I would be interested in doing a crafty project with the kids one day, and I of course said yes!  It was the week before Easter, so I decided to make some Easter themed cards.  I brought supplies for a generic card with flowers instead for anyone that didn't want to make one for Easter, but had no takers.  They all wanted chocolate bunnies!

Speaking of bunnies, I had no cart with the right shape, so made one.  Super simple in Design Studio!

They didn't need any feet since they were going to be tucked into a basket, so easy-peasy!

Photobucket

I used the Doodlecharms cart and cut out the baskets, and then snipped some Easter grass into smaller pieces.

Photobucket

I glued the grass to the back of the basket and then a scrap piece of paper to sandwich it all together.

Here's all my pieces.  Baskets, bunnies, stems and flowers, and some stamped eggs.

These pics are from my camera so not super quality, but you get the idea: )   They were so into it, it was fun!

This little one was so excited to be making stuff, and she ended up making a few since I had extra.  She was so proud when she showed me each one!

Aaron even enjoyed himslef, though he usually makes himself scarce when I ask him to make stuff at home!

This was awhile ago, so I am a bit behind in my pics!  I was in the classroom again yesterday, but this time we made Mother's Day cards, and I will be posting them soon ;)

Aaron's first day of 3rd Grade!

We went otside to wait for the bus at about 8:10. The bus comes right to our house, and they said 8:12...

Every year we have taken a picture by the mailbox on the first and last day of school.

I thought this picture with his shadow was pretty cool :)

Getting goofy and bored because the bus was late...

Isn't he so handsome??

"Is the bus here yet, Mom??"

More handsomeness..

It finally got there at 8:43!

School picnic

The end of the year picnic for preschool was on Friday, and we went to Pacific Highlands Park in Ferndale.

I guess I should have titled this post "Butterflies" because that's pretty much what the pics are of! The teacher, Miss Angie, had a butterfly net that had catapillars in it. They each had completed their metamorphasis into butterflies and they were going to let them go in the park.

But first, here is a view of Mount Baker!

Preschool graduation

Adrian's last day of preschool was on Friday, and they had a grad night on Wednesday.

At first she wouldn't stand up there without me...

Photobucket

But after a little coaxing she did it, but wouldn't wear the hat!

Photo shoot

Adrian's peschool teacher took some pics of all the students with a black backdrop, and they turned out sooooooooooo cute!! They are pics of a pic, so the quality is crappy, but cute none-the-less!

She doesn't have an OUNCE of personality, huh???

Valentine Decoration

I got this idea from some SUPER talented ladies on a scrapbooking message board I go to, and decided to make one for Adrian's preschool teacher. Her classroom is all decked out in Valentine stuff!

I got the lollipop sticks ($2 for 50) and the mug ($1) at Michaels, and I also got a small cube of that green floral foam stuff, it was like $1.29. I cut the cube into quaters and put a chunk down in the cup, and covered it with the strips of paper. I cut a piece of scrap pink paper into strips and then used this to make it all wavy (side note - I should have used that first and then cut it into strips, but it still worked!). The die cut shapes are the same on both sides and there is foam tape between the layers so the lollipop sticks fit.

The owl and the swirly heart is from the Storybook cartridge, and the rest is from the Doodlecharms cartridge.
