Holiday Cookies

The kids and I baked some sugar cookies this morning. So far I have decorated someof them, but I am going to have to relax a little and 'let' the kids decorate some too LOL!

I used an old cookbook for the sugar cookie recipe and found this recipe on allrecipes.com, and used peppermint extract instead of vanilla and 4 drops of green food coloring, mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

I am also going to make some Christmas Crack, or also known as Cracker Candy for the Holidays :)

Thanksgiving pic

So since I am the photographer in my house, I am never in the photos, especially on the holidays! When we got in the car I set the camera on the dash and turned on the timer, and managed to get a pic of all four us in the first try :)

I scrapped!

I have a Christmas party for work next weekend and am making my Secret Santa gift, a mini album of course :)

I used papers from the DCWV All Dressed Up stack and the pages are 4x4. The photo mats are 2x3 for wallet sized pics. I have had this set of page potectors forever that I found somewhere on clearance for $2 that were just begging to be used!

Kids Art, Thankful for...

Glitter Graphics

This is some of Aaron's and Adrian's artwork from yesterday and a written piece Aaron did at school about what he is thankful for.

Right now Adrian (4 y/o) is all about the Boobahs game right now, and yesterday she drew this picture and even wrote the letters without any help!

Aaron (7 y/0) is still fascinated by all things Mario Brothers and drew this picture of the game.

And seeing as how he just started 2nd grade, I am AMAZED by his handwriting everytime I see it, though I should be used to it by now LOL! Here is what he wrote he is thankful for...

One of the ladies on a scrap board I chat on posted these REALLY COOL star ornaments she had made from directions HERE, so of course I had to try them! The directions are for a 12x12 piece of paper but I didn't want to make them that big, so I made some with 8x8 instead. The skinny one is 1/4 inch strips and the bigger one is 3/8 inch strips. I made some with 6x6 and 1/4 inch strips too that turned out great!

A few pics...

Some misc pictures for you from the last few days! Since I know there are some readers out there, please leave me some lovin'! (Hint hint!! ;))

I found this toy box for $10 at a consignment store in Ferndale, and Aaron was pretending it was a bee 'hive' LOL

Photobucket
MMmmmmmmmmm this was soooo good! I made Paula Deen's goulash

And last but not least, I LOVE taco salads, but HATE paying $$$ for the bowls, which are usually cracked or broken, ARGH! My hub's grandmother gave him this nifty gadget the other day and we tried it last night and it was awesome! This salad was almost too pretty to eat :) Sorry for the blurry pic!

More sewing

I am still on my sewing kick for now, and it is fun! I am taking a scrapbooking haitus lol, just to do something different for a bit. I found this fabric in the remnant bin at Joann's the other day and it jumped out at me.

Finished the "fire" patterned bag

...And I LOVE IT! I can't decide if I want to keep it or not LOL! I had enough fabric left over to do two inside pockets as well.

A funky bag in the works

I bought this fabric at Joann's the other day and can't wait to finish it! The fire pattern is going to be the lining on the inside and an outside pocket, and the red will be the outer layer.

Aaron waiting for the bus this morning

He is just so dang handsome! He was being goofy this morning while waiting for the bus, and the leaves were so pretty behind him, I ran inside and grabbed my camera.
